Year 1 September announcements
Our Autumn finds
I have added some photos below to show you just a few examples of what we have used the children’s Autumn finds for…
We have used lots of the conkers for Maths activities including finding one more and one less and the leaves have been used this week for our Autumn wreaths which we have made independently in our creative area. Our investigation station is all about Autumn and the children have been looking more closely and making notes about what they can see.
If you have anymore natural resources at home, wood, loose pieces, old wicker baskets no longer in use, I am always looking to make our classroom as natural as possible so feel free to pass anything onto me for our classroom.

I just wanted to pop a few bits up to keep you all updated. Our timetable has changed this week so I have added it below –
I have also added the ‘meet the teacher’ slides below as a PDF document. I have had to change them a couple of times so the information follows any current Covid restrictions and staff changes –
Welcome to Year One – parents meeting
Thank you for sending in some Autumn finds from your walks over the last few weeks. I did just mention this in passing to the children and their enthusiasm has been amazing! I will share how we have been using these resources in our learning.
Have a lovely week,
Mrs Coupe

Happy Friday everyone,
Year One have worked hard again this week and we have been learning a short rhyme as part of our recovery Literacy unit. We have been reading the book ‘Harry the Happy Mouse’ and learning rhymes all about mice! Harry has had a fun time in Year One so far and he has been on lots of adventures – so much so we thought we had lost him today! We have recorded a special performance of our rhyme which you can watch below –
Homework will begin next week and in your child’s bag there is a permission letter for Seesaw which will be our homework platform across the school and in case of a bubble closure.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Coupe

Please find below the Year One newsletter for this term and our Autumn Term 1 timetable. I will also be adding my ‘Meet the Teacher’ slides onto the class page this week as we won’t be able to hold the usual meetings that we normally would have this year. As always, if you have any concerns or queries please contact school.
I hope the children have been enjoying Year One. They have all been super stars so far and it really is a pleasure to have them!

We have had a lovely first week back in school and it has been so lovely to meet you all properly and get to know you 🙂 I hope you have had a good week too.
I have put together some images below of our first few days of settling in and exploring, so have a look through and see if you can spot yourself.
Have a restful weekend, ready for a busy week next week!
