National

Gracious God, we give thanks

for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,

for her faith and her dedication to duty.

Bless our nation as we mourn her death

and may her example continue to inspire us;

Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen

As the national and world wide communities come to terms with the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We pray for the Royal Family,  our communities, our government, our nation and the commonwealth.

The Queen always spoke openly about her faith and how she Bible was a source of guidance and support. HRH Queen Elizabeth II, referred to her role as a servant leader. She ensured that the promises she made, before God, at her coronation were fulfilled. She was greatly respected by the world’s leaders. She travelled the world and spoke with dignity and respect for all cultures and traditions.

At Grimsargh St Michael’s, we are focusing on joining together as a Christian family to remember her life and faith. We are praying for all who mourn her across the world. We remember the Queen with respecting and honour her life as supreme governor of the Church of England.

Stephen Whittaker (Interim Diocesan Secretary) encouraged us to share this with you and directed us to this resource, produced by the Board of Education, to support children at this time of national mourning.
