ELECTRICITY OCTOBER 2021

The children have worked really hard in Autumn half-term 1 of 2021 creating circuits and testing the electrical conductivity of a range of materials.

MATHS WORK ON PERIMETER

We managed to get outside and active during our Maths this October, measuring the perimeter of a hundred square, an individual tennis court/football pitch and finally the tricky one- the overall perimeter of the playground- tricky as an irregular shape!

FREEZE FRAME RE DRAMA – DAVID AND SAUL

During our RE unit children listened to the Bible Story of David and Saul then watched a short video story. We discussed the spiritual and moral dilemmas involved and the important value of showing forgiveness. The children then carried out their own drama and freeze frame representations of the story as shown above.

NATURE JOURNAL- AUTUMN 2

During November, the children managed to get outside into the school grounds to find out what they could observe- using their senses of hearing, smell and touch in addition to the more obvious one of sight! The children had a great time!

VISCOSITY INVESTIGATION 29th NOVEMBER

We looked at the viscosity of different liquids, measuring the time it took for them to flow down a ramp (set at similar heights to ensure a fair test)

We had fun seeing how water and cooking oil raced down the ramp, soap and hand sanitiser got there eventually- but as for sweet chilli sauce and ketchup, well…. you will have to ask the children!

MATHS CO ORDINATES WITH PEG BOARDS

The children enjoyed using peg boards to plot shapes using co ordinates.

CHRISTINGLES

We loved our activity of writing instructions on how to make a Christingle, learning about this tradition imported from Europe and what all the different parts of it represent. Most of all we loved making them!!!
