Impact

When our children leave us at Grimsargh St Michael’s, we want them to have enjoyed their primary school years and have acquired a love of learning.

They will have been provided with the widest possible range of opportunities to support their personal growth, confidence and resilience. They will be independent, curious learners who are confident within each academic discipline because they have developed knowledge, skills and understanding within a coherent structure of recurring ‘Big Ideas’. They will have been exposed to subject-specific technical vocabulary at key times in a planned, coherent and organised way.

Explicit teaching and repetition of key vocabulary and Big Ideas will provide a structure for future learning, ensuring that they are ready for the next stage of their education.

Children will leave us with a desire to acquire further knowledge and experience the world around them, understanding that learning enriches their lives beyond the classroom.
