Sports Competitions

Hello everyone,

Just a short note to confirm the exciting start we have had to school sport here at Grimsargh St Michael’s during Autumn 1 Half-term.

Our Y5/6 football team have won through to the last 16 of the Harold Slater Shield following a thrilling 7-6 win over Goosnargh.  They also participated in a tournament at Play Football at Tulketh and performed well. The girls football team also played in a similar tournament at UCLAN and played in the knockout tournament- our mainly Y5 team losing bravely to Longsands. 

The Y4 mini skills tournament was a huge success with us getting first place and medals- well done all! The hockey team played with tenacity and great ability finishing 3rd in their league section and being very unlucky not to make further progression in the tournament. 

We have much to look forward to next half-term- more football for boys and girls teams, gymnastics for Y5/6, mini-skills for our Year 1/2 children and finally the exciting Sports Hall Athletics event.
