Faith in Action – Globally

Supporting our global neighbours in Ukraine

We were delighted to receive thanks from International Aid Trust for our support with the Shoebox Appeal. They shared how our contributions brought great joy to children and families in Ukraine during very challenging times, helping ensure support reached those most in need.

This action was inspired by our pupils, who had learned about the situation in Ukraine through Picture News and Newsround and felt motivated to help. It reflects how they are developing compassion and awareness, responding to real-world issues and taking meaningful steps to support others beyond their own community.

Supporting the Ukraine

After watching the news in school, our children asked whether we could do anything to help the Ukrainian refugees. Mrs Coupe asked children, parents and friends whether they could donate anything to send to the Ukrainian families who were fleeing from their homes. We were overwhelmed by the response. Look at how much we collected! Mrs Coupe’s friends (Rachel and Rachel’s Dad) came back three times to load their van and drop our donations at the Our donations were taken to a local International Aid collection point in Preston. A Special Message from Bishop Philip

Bishop Philip contacted Miss Smith to congratulate Year 5 on their amazing achievement.

Dear Year 5,

Miss Smith has just told me about your amazing Harvest Heptathlon and how you have raised nearly £600 by doing seven laps of the track every day for seven days. That is such a fantastic achievement! You have shown resilience and determination and as a result have achieved something really impressive.

Mr Parks, who is our Diocesan Director of Education, has recently visited the Diocese of Multan and has been to some of the schools that your money will be supporting. The schools have almost no money so the school buildings are in a very poor condition and children have to share pencils and other resources. Because money goes much further in Pakistan, your donation will make a massive difference to children in the church schools of Multan. They will be able to benefit from a better education whilst enjoying the same Christian ethos that you know so well from your own school. Thank you so much!

Please be assured of my love and prayers for you all.

Yours,

Bishop Philip

Year 2 Supporting The Bible Society

Year 2 children took the lead during worship. We thanked God for our wonderful school and community and the children reminded us how fortunate we are to have access to a diverse range of books and easy access to the Bible and holy books. We donated a percentage of our recent charitable contributions to The Bible Society. This will help people of all ages and backgrounds to read, learn, and discover more about God.
